Deputy Mayor Trevor Clarke took to social media late last night and in a statement he said
“As Deputy Mayor of Causeway Borough Council, I am delighted so many local people have received awards in Her Majesty’s New Year’s Honours List.
I offer my good wishes to Harry Gregg on the award of an OBE for services to football; Finlay Spratt on his MBE for public service and charity; Liz Weir MBE for services to arts and education; Bill Mills on his BEM for services to the Royal British Legion; George McAlpin BEM and Jane McAlpin BEM for services to tourism; Glenda Rogers McCormick BEM for service to the community in Bushmills; Leonard Quigg BEM for services to the community.
If I have missed anyone it isn’t intentional, my congratulations to all award recipients – you are examples to us all.”
