Detectives are appealing for information following a fire at a vacant house at Sperrin Road in Limavady in the early hours of Tuesday 21st March.

Detective Sergeant Wallace said: “ Police received a report of the fire shortly after 3am this morning. The house was well ablaze upon the arrival of emergency services a short time later, and a number of nearby residents were evacuated from their homes whilst Fire Service personnel dealt with the fire. The house was left completely gutted and an adjoining house suffered smoke damage.

“ We are treating this incident as arson at this stage and an investigation is underway. I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact detectives in Coleraine on 101 quoting reference number 70 21/03/17. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
