Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary in the Galvally Mews area of Portstewart on Friday 4 November.

At approximately 12.50pm police received a report that a masked man had entered a house and threatened the female occupier. He asked for money however he fled the scene empty handed.

The woman was not injured during this incident however she was left very badly shaken.

Detective Sergeant Kelly Gallagher would appeal to anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area or anyone who has information about this incident to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 511 of 04/11/16. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
