Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the report of burglaries at commercial premises in the New Row and Stone Row area of Coleraine.

Police received reports of burglaries to Commercial premises in the areas of New Row and Stone Row Coleraine overnight Thursday night, 19 October. A sum of cash and a laptop computer was stolen as a result.

Detectives are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around 8.30pm on 19 October to contact Detectives at Coleraine Police Station on 101, quoting reference 275 20/10/2017. Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this morning, Councillor William McCandless said “Each week this anti social behaviour and crime increases in its intensity. I spoke to owners of the commercial premises this morning who had been affected and they are justifiably indignant at what is happening in this town and particularly to them. At Stone Row there is no CCTV to pick up where the intruders entered the premises. At these times these commercial properties are hard pressed to keep their businesses afloat and deserve all the help and support that we can give them. This includes insuring that the town is secure and kept free from burglaries and ASB.
