
A Ballycastle man caught driving without insurance, being unaccompanied and being without L plates said he gone to a pharmacy because his partner had taken ill.
Malachy McNeill (29), of Ramoan Close, came to police attention when they saw a Volkswagen Bora in the Diamond area of Ballycastle on February 7 this year.
At Coleraine Magistrates Court on May 13 the defendant pleaded guilty to the three charges he faced and was given six penalty points and fines totalling £450.
District Judge Peter King said the defendant had an “unhappy driving record”.
