Drunk man had no memory of what happened after attending a birthday party – but he had urinated on a car

1 Mins read

A drunk man who said he had no memory of what happened after he left a birthday party urinated on and punched a Kia car before banging on shutters and calling police “scum”.

Ryan Lee Connor (18), a factory worker, of Ballyness Park, Coleraine, was in the town’s Magistrates Court on Monday in connection with offences which happened on January 5 this year.

He pleaded guilty to offences of disorderly and indecent behaviour which occurred in the Long Commons area of Coleraine.

A prosecutor said a resident said a male urinated against his Kia car before the male apologised and ran off, however, he came back and punched the rear window of the car.

He then proceeded to hit shutters and when police found him he was “highly intoxicated” and shouted and swore at officers using words like “scum” and “tramps”.

When interviewed he apologised for his behaviour and said he didn’t normally behave in such a way.

Defence solicitor Denise Gillan said alcohol was a factor; that Connor had been at a birthday party and “had no memory of what happened next”.

She added: “His behaviour was atrocious, he accepts that”.

The defendant was fined £250.
