DUP Leader Arlene Foster visited Northern Irelands first commercial carrier neutral data centre in Coleraine this morning.  Mrs Foster received a tour of the building and had a look into the potential that 5Nines NI has for this area and for Northern Ireland.

The data center is close to the landing station of the Project Kelvin Transatlantic fiber, which connects Northern Ireland to Northern America via the Hibernia North submarine cable system.

5Nines’ facility is located on a new enterprise zone in Coleraine, ‘Atlantic Link,’ nearby to Ulster University’s Coleraine campus.  5NINES invested £20m in the 45,000 sq ft facility.

The company has data centres across the world, including the Netherlands, Finland, France and the United States.
