Maurice Bradley MLA has requested a meeting with NI Water in relation to Ballinrees Reservoir carpark closure.
Bradley is hopeful of a resolution to the reservoir car park closure
MLA Bradley said: ” Having been contacted by numerous constituents over the weekend raising concerns at the closure, I have asked for a meeting with NI Water representatives to discuss the matter.
“The reservoir is well used by local people. It is an amenity that we should be proud of – it has been used by local anglers for many years, it is also very popular with runner, walkers and nature lovers where there is an abundance of wildlife,” said Bradley.
The MLA went on: ”
I appreciate that health and safety is paramount in a situation such as this, however, custom and practice would indicate that the onus is on NI Water to make the road safe given the fact that the area has been in their ownership for some time. I am hopeful that some resolution can be found in this matter.”
