A founding member and East Londonderry Association President Stanley White has died peacefully at his home in Macosquin ( 5th August 2020 ).
East Londonderry MLA Maurice Bradley said: “Stanley was a stalwart and an ever-present and branch and association meetings.
“His quiet manner and friendliness was apparent to us all. He always had a quiet word of advice to give when needed.
“He was also a popular businessman, owning the White’s Chemist Shop in New Row, Coleraine.
Stanley was a founder member of the DUP with his late friend and colleague the late James McClure. They don’t make men of their calibre anymore.
Coleraine Branch Chairman Mark Fielding was in contact with the family on learning of Stanley’s sad parting saying he was a man of strong Christian principle, true unionist, and a tower of strength for the DUP in the North-West as the party grew in strength.
“It was men like Stanley who kept faith in strong moral politics which was the hallmark of the DUP down the years.”
George Robinson, MLA and Chairman of the East Londonderry Association said Stanley was a popular member of the party. He had a keen sense of humour, but will be remembered for his sound advice during Association meetings.
“We would extend our deepest sympathy to his son Timothy and daughter Louise and their partners Kim and Johnny and their immediate and extended family circle.”
