A Ballycastle man has fallen victim to an online scam.
A police spokesperson said “Yesterday an elderly male in the Ballycastle area sadly became the victim of an online scam whereby he posted a considerable amount of cash to an address in England which he thought was going to be used to help the National Crime Agency with one of their operations.
Police are hoping to intercept the cash before it reaches the criminal swindler.
Be careful folks who you speak to online and remember that no Police Force nor any agency linked to law enforcement will ever ask for financial help in this manner.”
