Coleraine Coastguard and the RNLI have been tasked to Portstewart to reports of two people in difficulty due to high tide.

No further info at this time.

UPDATE : A Coleraine Coastguard spokesperson said ‘Coleraine team was tasked this afternoon as reports came in of 2 persons trapped by incoming tide on rocks close to the Dominican Convent, Portstewart.

Unsure whether Portrush RNLI ILB would be to safely get close, the team geared up for a water rescue. Thankfully the ILB was able to recover the 2 casualties into the care of the Coastguard waiting at Portstewart Harbour. They were none the worse for wear after their experience.’
