One person had died following a ‘serious’ crash on the Gracehill Road in Armoy. The incident happened shortly after 7pm last night.
UUP Councillor Darryl Wilson said “I am deeply saddened to learn that one person has died following a serious two vehicle collision on the Gracehill Road near Armoy this evening. This stretch of road has been an accident black spot over recent years with increased traffic due to local tourist attractions. My thoughts and prayers go out to all impacted by this awful tragedy.”
Causeway Coast Community understands the deceased may have been visiting the area.
A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service last night said it received a report of a two vehicle collision on the road at 7.10pm.
“A rapid response paramedic and two A&E crews were sent to the scene. Two patients were treated at the scene.”
Diversions are still in place at the Bregagh Road junction and at the Clontyfinnan Road junction and will remain throughout the day.
