Father and son appear in court

A father and son have appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court charged with assaulting a man occasioning him actual bodily harm.

William Wilmont Senior (42), and William Wilmont Junior (19), both of the same address at Dundooan Park, Coleraine, are charged in relation to February 10 this year.

On the same date Wilmont Senior is also charged with causing criminal damage to a BMW belonging to the alleged victim and he is also accused of driving at Spa-Well Gardens, Coleraine, with excess alcohol in his breath.

Wilmont Junior’s other charges are common assault of a female and criminal damage to a Hyundai i20 belonging to another female.

The defendants’ legal representative was Garrett Greene.

A police officer said she believed she could connect both accused to the charges.

A prosecutor said the full file in the case is due from police by August 30.

The defendants were bailed and the case adjourned to September.
