Cats Protection’s Coleraine Branch is appealing for cat lovers who fancy a new challenge to volunteer for the charity.

People from all walks of life are encouraged to contact the Coleraine branch, which provides an essential cat rehoming service, advice and guidance, and neutering support services in the local area.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. The Coleraine Branch is part of the charity’s nationwide network of around 230 volunteer-run branches and 37 centres that together help around 200,000 cats and kittens each year.

More than 10,000 volunteers across the UK fill a variety of roles including TNR Volunteers, Transport Volunteers and Social Media Volunteers; giving them the opportunity to help cats, meet like-minded people and be part of a truly worthwhile cause.

Mark Hetherington, Branch Co-Ordinator said: “Volunteering for Cats Protection is a rewarding experience, in particular it allows you to develop new and existing skills by taking on fresh challenges. Our volunteers gain a great deal of satisfaction helping cats get a second chance in life.

“We work hard to match people’s skills, interests and time availability to the roles on offer so if you have something to contribute, please get in touch!”

One volunteer who did just that was Maggi, who started volunteering for the Branch last July. Maggi wanted to help cats in need whilst also practicing her hobbies such as amateur photography. She quickly became the branch photographer, as well as helping the enquiries and social media teams.

The branch is especially interested in finding volunteers to fill the following positions: Treasurer, TNR Volunteers, Fundraising Team Leader and Social Media Team Leader. However, all help is appreciated! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for Cats Protection’s Coleraine, then please email [email protected]
