AN incident in which a man swinging a baseball bat in the presence of a number of people on a Portrush street was captured on video which was played at Coleraine Magistrates Court.

The court heard the person with the bat had not been prosecuted.

Another man who was present during the Portrush incident – Arthur Hanson – admitted being disorderly at Causeway Street on June 7 last year.

Hanson’s legal representative told the court, on January 13, the defendant was currently carrying out community service and was “doing well and enjoying it”.

The court heard that the other person pictured in the street with the baseball bat had not been prosecuted.

It was said individuals had arrived in the area “to do no good”.

Hanson, whose address was given as Mark Street in Portrush, was ordered to do 60 hours of community service.
