Former Catering College Grounds Site Scrapped For Parking

Plans to use the former Catering College grounds in Portrush for parking during the Open Championship have been been scrapped due to asbestos contamination.

The planned site was due to be used for a designated coach park and drop off point.

Recent tests found fibre levels ‘significantly below’ safety limits.

Ulster University which owns the site confirmed it will play no part in next years event.
