Four prohibition notices for breaches of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2020 have been issued across Causeway Coast and Glen district by the PSNI.
A PSNI spokesperson said “Since bars were permitted to be reopened on 3rd July, officers have issued four prohibition notices for breaches of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2020 across the Causeway Coast and Glen district. The notices were served to two premises in Coleraine on 8th July and 28th August, a premises in Portrush on 28th August and a premises in Limavady on Sunday 30th August.
“Our officers continue to engage with licensees across the district to ensure they are adhering to their responsibilities as required under the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) Regulations NI 2020.
“Where we receive complaints, we will engage with licensees around potential breaches. Where appropriate, advice and guidance will be provided to ensure the continued safe and peaceful enjoyment of services.
“Our approach has always been Engage, Explain, Encourage and Enforcement with any emphasises on Enforcement being fully considered with all our partners.”
The serving of a prohibition notice does not necessarily mean that a premises has to close.
