Paul Frew DUP MLA for North Antrim has welcomed the Communities Minister Paul Givan move to grant fund Community Halls to the tune of £500,000.

Frew stated “This is good news and much needed. Church halls, scout halls, Orange Halls and centres that are used for a multitude of activities will be able to apply for up to £25,000. They provide an essential service to our community especially in the rural setting where elderly folk can feel lonely and isolated.

This can include works like small scale refurbishments like new toilets blocks, internal or external works such as car park improvements, reroofing projects, guttering or new flooring, even alterations to electrical, mechanical services or security systems like CCTV and Alarms.”

Closing date for Applications will be Wed 23 Nov 2016 noon and all expenditure to be incurred from date of award until 31 March 2017.
