Funeral date set for crash victim Peter Smyth

The funeral of Peter Smyth, who died following a road traffic accident on Wednesday in Coleraine, will take place on Sunday.

My Smyths funeral will take place at Aghadowey Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 2.30pm.

A funeral notice read ‘Smyth: 20th February 2019 suddenly Peter James, Barnside Road, Kilrea, beloved husband of Caroline, much loved father of Callum, Harry and Ellie. loving son of James and Eithne, dear brother of Alastair, Ian and Lyndsey, a dear brother-in-law and also Mervyn and Lynn.

Service of Thanksgiving in Aghadowey Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 2.30pm. Friends welcome at his parents home, 27 Greenhill Road, Aghadowey. Family flowers only please.

Donations in lieu, if desired to Air Ambulance NI c/o James McMullan and Son, 22 High Street, Ballymoney BT53 6AQ. Lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family and the entire family circle.’

Commenting on the tragedy yesterday, Cllr Richard Holmes said ‘I’m deeply saddened to learn of the death of Peter Smyth in a road traffic collision.

This is a tragedy for the family and we should surround them with our prayers at this time.

The Smyth family are well known locally through business, church and cycling and undoubtedly the family and community circles will rally around just as the Smyth family have done for others.’
