Garvagh Primary School closed for ‘deep clean’

1 Mins read

Garvagh Primary School is closed today due to the high volume of children and staff currently suffering with the winter tummy bug.

A spokesperson for the school said “Following advice from EA, the school will be closed today in order to allow a deep clean of the premises to be carried out. This will help to restrict any spreading of this contagious sickness to other pupils and staff.

Apologies to all for any inconvenience caused.

It has not been a decision that has been taken lightly but the health and well-being of all – pupils, staff and their families – must be the priority under the circumstances.”

The school will re-open on Monday 27th January as normal.
