Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this evening George Robinson MBE MLA said “This afternoon I had the honour to attend a service in Coleraine Town Centre to remember the six innocent victims and the injured of the IRA Railway Road bomb in 1973. I was struck by the dignity of all the family members attending as they paid tribute to their family members. Speaking to the families it was very clear how much the service meant to them all.

The clergy led a very humbling short service and, from talking to victims families and survivors afterwards, it was obvious the entire event, especially the service, was greatly appreciated.

I want to say a special thank you to Councillors Alan McClean and Trevor Clarke for the hard work they put in to ensure that this even took place and a permanent memorial is much closer. Their work on the issue is something which I and many other appreciate.”
