Giant’s Causeway Festive Evening To Kick Start Christmas Celebrations

1 Mins read

The National Trust is embracing the Christmas season with a fun filled festive evening for the local community and visitors at the Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre on Wednesday 28 November from 6pm – 8pm.

Visitors will enjoy an evening of festive celebrations with festive refreshments including mulled wine accompanied by a Christmas performance from Dalriada Orchestra. On the evening visitors will be able to avail of an exclusive 20% discount in the gift store as well as a free gift-wrapping service, perfect for anyone who wants to browse the range of local arts and crafts and pick up some Christmas gifts along the way.

Commenting on the evening, Ciara McClements, Visitor Experience Manager at the National Trust said: “We’re delighted to support Christmas in Bushmills by hosting what is set be a fun-filled evening of Christmas celebrations at the Causeway for all our visitors to enjoy. With over 80% of the products sold in the Visitor Centre made by local crafters, this is a great opportunity to showcase the lovingly handcrafted products available. What’s extra special about these gifts is that the money raised is not only invested back into the World Heritage Site but also helps to maintain the National Trust’s other places across Northern Ireland.

“As part of the festive activity, we will also be offering daytime visitors to Carrick-a-Rede 20% discount on gifts and souvenirs at the Weighbridge Café on Wednesday 28 November. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the evening and with a free Park & Ride service to the Giant’s Causeway available, visitors will be able to enjoy a hassle-free and merry evening of festivities.”

The festive shopping evening kicks starts a month of Christmas activity and festive fun at the North Coast with the Bushmill’s Late Night Christmas Shopping event on Thursday 29 November and Bushmill’s Light Switch On, on Friday 30 November. The National Trust staff will also take part in a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 14 December, and visitors to the Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge are encouraged to wear their favourite Christmas jumpers to the stones in aid of the Save the Children campaign.
