Green Light For North Coast Hotel

1 Mins read

A new four star hotel has been given the green light at this afternoons planning meeting.

The hotel which will have 120 bedrooms, incorporate conference facilities for around 350 people, a spa and leisure complex, holiday cottages and a restaurant – will create around 120 new jobs with an investment of £15 million.

The hotel will be situated close to the start/finish line of the North West 200 circuit at Ballyreagh Road.

Alderman Norman Hillis UUP has welcomed the new hotel on the outskirts of Portstewart.  Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this afternoon he said ” I am delighted at the news that this exciting new Hotel has received planning permission today.

This is really timely as the developers, who have close connections to the area, have told me that they hope to have the new Hotel open in time for The Open Golf in 2019 which is only 24 months away.

This will bring numerous construction jobs to the area not to mention many full time jobs in the hotel itself. I am certain this hotel will be a great asset for the area encouraging visitors to stay and enjoy the many superb sights and attractions in our Causeway Coast and Glens area.”
