60 years ago, the simple idea of adding tubes inside a plastic brick turned into one of the most exciting and influential toys in the world – the LEGO® brick. Since then, LEGO has been about the joy of building.

Lego has been a big part of one local man’s life as he has been completing complicated projects despite having no hands.

Portstewart man Desmond James Calvert, known as DJ or the Lego Man, was born five weeks early and his arms and legs didn’t fully develop.

But, after being given his first Lego set at the age of nine, he became a fanatic.  Inspirational Portstewart man Desmond James Calvert, speaks candidly about his life, and his passion for Lego, to CCC’s Denis McNeill, in this week’s ‘Have you got a Minute?’

Fun Fact : The name ‘LEGO’ is an abbreviation of the two Danish words “leg godt”, meaning “play well”.
