The Health and Wellbeing Team make contact with those people referred to the service and provide each one with information, advice and signposting help with isolating and managing any related anxiety.
Doreen added “Where needed, help with food, fuel, medicines and social contact is provided by linking with the Community Hub in each Council area. We would like to convey our gratitude to the many community groups involved who are contributing to ensure people receive their support while isolating.”
One recipient of this service, who is currently experiencing deteriorating mental health issues and is in food and fuel poverty commented “the service provided was very valuable and I really appreciated being able to talk at length regarding my issues to such a caring individual”. He further commented “it was a ‘fantastic service’ and I was provided with a food parcel and help with fuel from my local council and was also offered a befriending service”.
