Highly Successful Fundraiser for Antrim Neonatal Unit in Dervock

1 Mins read

Alderman Sharon McKillop hosted a fundraising night for Antrim Neonatal Unit in her establishment the Blackwater Bar last Saturday.

Commenting Sharon said:

“All of us know either family or friends who have cause to be thankful for the caring and professional medical services which are provided at neonatal units so when it was suggested that we host a fundraising event for the one in Antrim I expected many people to give generously. Knowing the local people I knew there would be a good response and I was not disappointed with over £2,000 coming in as a result of the night and the huge efforts of Adele and Raymond Nutt in memory of their son McKenzie.

“I would like to thank all those who gave so generously to this very worthy cause including the compare/ auctioneer and DJ who gave of his time.

“I would also like to say well done to the brave souls who took part in the chest and eye bow waxing!

“It was a great night of fun but we were always mindful of the fact that Antrim Neonatal Unit deals with very challenging cases and the young children who go there are often in a very serious condition. Our thoughts were with those also who have lost young children and infants, especially those from the village and surrounding area”
