Hunter welcomes critical funding for community crisis service

1 Mins read

SDLP East Derry MLA Cara Hunter has welcomed the allocation of £60,000 to the Community Crisis Intervention Service in Derry, which has provided critical support to people in need of acute help, across the North West.

The East Derry MLA commented:

“The Community Crisis Intervention Service has saved lives in the North West. People in need of immediate help have received dedicated and compassionate support in very difficult circumstances thanks to the powerful work of staff and volunteers here.

“I am delighted that the Health Minister has made an additional allocation that will allow the service to continue to help people in real need in the North West.”

“It’s so important that we create sustainable long term funding for projects which have demonstrated their worth. It’s no exaggeration to say that people are alive today because of this service and we need to do everything we can to protect it.”
