Injured Climbers Flown To Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital

Two climbers are understood to be seriously injured after falling up to 50 metres at an area known as Hell’s Kitchen.

A spokesperson for the Coastguard said “At 1549 this afternoon we received multiple 999 calls reporting two seriously injured climbers at Fair Head.

We tasked Ballycastle & Coleraine Coastguard Rescue Teams, Irish Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter 118, Police and Ambulance. Coastguards on scene assisted by North West Mountain Rescue Team stabilised the casualties.

Rescue 118 winched both casualties into the helicopter and were flown to Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital.
