With the 2019-20 season declared unfinished, interest continues to grow in the Coleraine and District League.
The League management committee has been contacted by three clubs seeking entry for the 2020-21 season and a further two making tentative inquiries.
In anticipation of a massive re-structuring of Intermediate Football throughout Northern Ireland, clubs are evaluating their participation options.
A spokesperson said “Many players are involved in youth football on a Saturday morning/afternoon, taking their kids to play at youth leagues and Academies throughout the country and no longer have the necessary time to devote to the junior game that has fallen behind the commitment needed to attend, coach, take part in youth football.
The game is in a very healthy state at youth level, while struggling at the junior level to retain players.”
