Twelve (12) international tour operators from eight different countries – including GB, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, the Netherlands and Belgium are visiting this week, to learn all about Northern Ireland, our superb culinary scene and the ‘Taste the Island’ food initiative. They are here are guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.

The tour operators’ action-packed itinerary features lots of great food and drink experiences – including a visit to the Walled City Brewery and a food tour in Londonderry, as well as a chance to see rapeseed oil production at Broighter Gold Économusée in Limavady. The group also enjoyed a visit to the Giant’s Causeway and a tour of Bushmills Distillery. They took part in food tours around the Causeway Coast and in Ballycastle, where they enjoyed freshly caught seafood and local cheeses.

“We’re really pleased that so many tour operators took time out of their busy schedule to come to Northern Ireland and experience our fantastic food offering and some of the many things to do and see here,” said Finola O’Mahony, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Europe. “Food and drink are vital elements of today’s holiday experience and our ‘Taste the Island’ promotions around the world will raise awareness of Northern Ireland’s rich food culture.”
