Patrick Joseph McNaughton (42), of Carn-Neil Park, Waterfoot, who had the offence detected at the nearby Coast Road on November 18 this year.

He had an evidential drink reading of 100 with the legal limit being 35.

Defence solicitor Stephen McCann said the defendant had taken alcohol at lunch-time and after sleeping he had driven a short distance to “run an errand”.
