4c3e1607a17af2eff09d397193bdf0a9_originalKilrea tanning and beauty expert, Katrina Arbuthnot formerly Devlin, has been a leader within the tanning and beauty industry since 2003. Her business Ka-Toning was the first to bring spray tanning and teeth whitening to Northern Ireland.

With a degree in hospitality management, Katrina first had the idea of the Tanndle™ back in 2008. In 2012, she was awarded grant funding from E-Synergy and Invest NI. Which helped her progress the Tanndle™ from concept to reality. It also enabled Katrina to manufacture and test the first Tanndle™ prototypes. Katrina has also received two Technical Development Initiative (TDI) Awards and an Innovation Voucher from Invest NI to aid in the development of the Tanndle™ and assisting KA Innovation Ltd in realising its market potential.

In spite of balancing being a busy mum of two both under three years old, and managing Ka-Toning, Katrina has accelerated the product development process from 2015. Targeting a Tanndle™ launch in November 2016.

Katrina said “I came up with the idea for the Tanndle™ because I’ve been self-tanning for years and know how hard it is to apply fake tan to your back. When I was single, it was impossible to get that all-over complete tan – unless you had a friend or partner to help – and I thought there must be a way for people to do this easily by themselves.”
