Last chance to stop parking charges at tourist hot spots! Decision to be taken this Tuesday

1 Mins read

On Tuesday night Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council will take another vote on seasonal parking charges for car parks at some of the Borough’s top tourist destinations.

A number of weeks ago a majority of councillors backed the recommendation to impliment the parking charges, however a group of 6 Ulster Unionist councillors legally challenged the decision in a bid to halt the charges .

Due to the legal challenge, the vote will now be re-taken at this Tuesday’s full council meeting.

This story has generated huge interest within the Borough and across Northern Ireland with members of the public actively lobbying their local councillors to have their say on the issue.

We will keep you up to date as soon as the decision is taken on Tuesday evening, it will be interesting to see if public opinion has influenced any of the elected members to vote differently this time.
