Lidl is to open a new £5.75m concept store in Ballymoney to replace its existing site.
The supermarket chain confirmed that they will create a “high-quality shopping environment with more space, wider aisles, longer tills, restroom and baby-changing facilities” in a site facing the current store.
153 parking spaces will be provided at the new premises. The current store in the town will remain open until the retailer completes the new project.
An updated version of the proposal was signed off by the planning committee last week.
UUP’s Councillor Darryl Wilson said “The new and improved Lidl store is certainly a welcome addition to Ballymoney. The store has been providing a service and local jobs to the Town for many years now. I would like to wish the store and the staff every success for the future.”
