Red Bay Lifeboat was tasked yesterday evening shortly before 6pm following reports of red distress flares sighted off Torr Head.
A 7m boat with 4 people on board had lost engine power and was drifting in the rough sea conditions.
A spokesperson for RNLI said ‘The Lifeboat located the vessel and towed it safely to Cushendall.
The boat had been drifting for over an hour in the remote area, the distress flares were seen by 2 people in a kayak in the area and contacted Belfast Coastguard.’
No one was injured in the incident.
