1 Mins read

Mourners gathered this afternoon in the quiet village of Articlave outside Coleraine for the funeral of local businessman Ian Patterson, who died in a tragic accident on Friday.

Mr Patterson who has been described as a “much loved daddy” and “devoted son” died after being electrocuted last Friday while installing a new light in his garden shed in the Rockmount Gardens area of Articlave.

Over the last few days, family and many friends paid tribute to Mr Patterson on social media, who owned Patterson TV Aerial & Satellite Services.

Mr Patterson was also a popular member of the Silver Arrows darts team based in Articlave. Friday night’s games in the Ballymoney Dart League were called off as a mark of respect. League secretary Stephen Pinkerton described his friend as “a very, very lovable chap” who will be “greatly missed”.

The service took place today at 2pm in St Paul’s Church, Articlave.
