Local Councillor Pops Into Infuse Artisan Tea New Row Coleraine, Northern Ireland’s First Tea Bar

1 Mins read

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community on Friday afternoon Councillor William McCandless said “I enjoy my fixes of coffee and tea every day but was genuinely curious of a tea bar.

Don’t worry coffee addicts, Duncan assured me that you can get a coffee there also, if you insist.

I had a chat with the proprietor Duncan Davis, whose accent betrayed him. Born in South Africa then moving to Scotland and educated in Oxfordshire and moving to Norn Iron in 2013. Duncan told me he had always been interested in brewing herbs as a child and experimented with them. His partner Aine who is a herbalist put him right when they met. They started off in the Diamond centre as an experiment, they then trialled a tea shop in Cambridgeshire and they both realised their dream to open their tea bar in Coleraine.

I am pictured with Duncan looking at some of his wares. It is Duncan’s wish that as the business takes off he will be able to sell some of his specialist blends of tea to his customers.”

Councillor McCandless went on to thank Duncan for taking the time to explain the art of infusing tea.
