Local Newspaper Titles To Merge

Local JPI Media titles (  formerly Johnston Press ) are to merge following news of a company restructure earlier this year.

A spokesman for JPIMedia said: “We are constantly looking to innovate and find new working structures and ways of working to respond to the declining print advertising and newspaper sales revenues we and the rest of the media industry have experienced for many years.

As part of this, we are looking at measures to respond to immediate revenue challenges”

1. The Coleraine and Ballymoney edition will merge to become the Coleraine & Ballymoney Times.
2. The Dromore Leader Edition of the Banbridge Leader, to become the Banbridge & Dromore Leader.
3. The Roe Valley edition of the Derry Journal ( Tuesday ), to become the Derry Journal.
4. The Roe Valley edition of the Derry Journal ( Friday ), to become the Derry Journal.
5. The South Derry edition of the Mid Ulster Mail, to become the Mid Ulster Mail.
