A MAN (72) is accused of possessing an offensive weapon – a knife – in a public place.

Edward Dillon, of Drumkill Gardens in Kilrea, is charged in relation to November 7.

He is also accused of being disorderly at Drumkill Gardens on the same date.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena on Monday, the defendant was released on £500 bail with conditions including not to go within 100 metres of a person’s address.

The case was adjourned to November 16.
