A man originally from Poland who is accused of murdering his uncle at a cottage near Rasharkin has had his case adjourned to April 18 to fix a date for a Preliminary Enquiry – the legal step to send the case to the Crown Court.
Marek Marcin Sinko (37), with an address at Townhill Road, Rasharkin, is alleged to have murdered labourer Eugeniusz Sinko (53) on October 22, 2017.
The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The defendant, who is currently on bail, was charged with murder in May last year.
He was initially arrested and questioned about the death of Eugeniusz Sinko in October 2017.
When police received a pathology report in 2018 saying the cause of death was due to “traumatic brain injury” the murder charge was brought.
