A man who was allegedly filmed on a mobile phone assaulting a woman in a domestic incident
has been returned to custody for breaching bail.

Recently, Emil Palys (35), originally from Poland but of Ballygallin Park in Coleraine, had been released on bail to an address in Bangor and barred from entering Coleraine.

However, when he appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on November 26 via video link from Maghaberry Prison, it was heard his bail had been revoked.

A defence lawyer said he hoped to get another bail address.

The defendant was remanded in continuing custody ahead of an expected bail application on December 3.

A prosecutor said a full file in the assault case is not due until mid-December.

Palys is charged with assaulting a woman on Friday October 12.

A previous court was told a neighbour heard “loud screaming and crying” and used a mobile phone to record footage.
