Police from Coleraine on patrol in Portrush last night came across an instance of anti social behaviour at the Main Street junction with Eglinton Street.

Posting on Social Media, a PSNI Spokesperson said : “A council flower bed, designed to improve the towns looks and appeal to tourists and locals alike, had been torn up and damaged. The person involved was located and arrested accordingly.

They were subsequently issued with a Community Resolution Notice, which is a new process designed to reduce lengthy and costly court proceedings.

Instead the individual is afforded an opportunity to put right the damage caused swiftly, while also being held accountable for their actions.”
