A MAN from the Rasharkin area is accused of offences which, according to the charge sheet, include an allegation of possessing a hurling stick as an offensive weapon.

Jonathan Hunter (40), with an address at Portna Road, is accused of having the hurling stick on April 2 this year at what was only referred to on the charge sheet as ‘Condiere Park’.

The charge sheet also shows the defendant facing four charges of causing criminal damage to windows on the same date.

Regarding March 30 this year the charge sheet alleges the defendant made a threat to a woman to cause damage to a house.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court where defence barrister Michael Smyth asked for an adjournment so he can get the instructions of the defendant.

The case was adjourned to November.
