A man who had previously denied allegations of assault and possession of cannabis has had the charges withdrawn.

Trevor James McKillop (53), a taxi driver of Islandtasserty Road between Coleraine and Portrush, was originally alleged to have committed offences on January 8 this year.

He had previously been at Coleraine Magistrates Court on March 11 and the case was adjourned to March 25 to fix a date for a contest.

On March 25 a prosecutor said the charges had been withdrawn.
