Man is accused of ‘common assault’

1 Mins read

A MAN faces an allegation of ‘common assault’ regarding his son.

Seamus Edward Fleming (57), with an address listed as Park Street in Coleraine, is alleged to have committed an offence on October 20 this year.

The defendant was in the dock at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

A defence solicitor said it was a “family matter” and the allegation was that the defendant “made a move towards the son which the son may have believed would have resulted in a physical assault”.

The defendant was given £500 bail and the case was adjourned to December 9.
