Man is accused of stealing items including eight electric toothbrushes during dental practice break-in

A man accused of stealing items including eight electric toothbrushes during a burglary at a dental practice has had his case sent to Antrim Crown Court.

Derek Kirk (44), of Lanntara, Ballymena, is charged in relation to last April.

The particulars of the burglary charge are that he stole around £500 cash, eight electric toothbrushes, a prescription pad, a sharps box and a camera and flash during a burglary at Boyd & Logue dental practice at Lodge Road in Coleraine.

He is also charged with assaulting and resisting a police officer and possessing a Class C controlled drug – Pregabalin.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday the defendant was released on continuing bail to appear at the Crown Court at the end of March.
