Man is charged with engaging in sexual activity at public toilet in Coleraine

1 Mins read

A Ballymoney man charged with engaging in sexual activity in a public toilet at Strand Road in Coleraine appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

Thomas James Brennan (44), of Carnany Court, is also alleged to have committed an act of a ‘lewd, obscene and disgusting nature’ by exposing himself to a male on the same date – April 10 this year.

At court the defendant confirmed he understood the charges.

A police officer said he believed he could connect the accused to the charges.

A prosecution lawyer said a full file in the case has been requested from police and is due at the end of May. Defence barrister Alan Stewart said the defendant worked part-time and he successfully applied for legal aid.

No other details were given to the court.

The defendant was released on £500 bail and the case was adjourned to June.
