A man who has pleaded guilty to assaulting a doctor has been told courts take a “very serious view” of such attacks.
Darryl Freeman (26), of Tullans Park, Coleraine, committed the offence on June 22 this year.
He appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was represented by defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine, and the defendant admitted the one charge he faces.
Sentence was adjourned until September to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
No further details regarding the assault were given to the court.
Deputy District Judge Austin Kennedy told Freeman: “This is a very very serious charge involving an assault on a doctor. The court takes a very serious view of this charge.”
