Man to contest hatchet-related charges

A Garvagh man is to contest charges of assaulting a man; having a hatchet as an offensive weapon and damaging a door.

Andrew Yearl (23), of Agivey Court, is alleged to have committed offences on March 7 this year in the Millview Gardens area of Garvagh.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court on Friday, where the defendant’s solicitor was John Murphy, the case was adjourned to October for a contest.
