A LAWYER says his client is going to plead guilty to being disorderly at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine and also indecent behaviour at Glebe Avenue in Coleraine.

The hospital incident happened on August 23 this year, with the indecent incident being on August 22, Coleraine Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, was told.

The defendant is Aidan McMullan (39), of Glebe Avenue, Coleraine.

The defence lawyer, Derwin Harvey, said the disorderly behaviour happened when the defendant was with the police in the car park of the hospital where he was disorderly towards PSNI officers “but not towards paramedics, staff, or doctors” before he was brought into the hospital.

Mr Harvey said the indecent incident happened when the defendant was highly intoxicated and attempted to urinate before appearing to go to sleep “on the floor, partially dressed”.

The defendant, who appeared at court via a video link from custody, was released on £500 bail to appear back at Coleraine Court on Friday August 28.
